Nominees were voted for by event bookers during the online voting period taking place in July. The finalists in the Prestigious Star Awards 2017 were announced today in London. Every year, venues and event suppliers are nominated for excellence across a range of event specific categories. More than 2,000 venues and suppliers are reviewed but only 200 are nominated. The top 3 venues in each category have now been revealed based on votes from event bookers gathered during July. The next stage in the process is an in-depth review and election by the Prestigious Venues global ambassadors panel. Winners will then be announced at the annual awards ceremony and grand ball on the 16th March 2018 at One Whitehall Place in London.
This year, as well as the global venue categories, new national categories were included such as, 'Best Venue in the UK,' 'Best Venue in the UAE' and 'Best Venue in Italy.' In addition, new categories for event suppliers were also introduced, including 'Best Event Entertainment' and 'Best Event Florist' amongst others.
Now in its eighth year, the awards program will be celebrated with a grand ball to be held at The Royal Horseguards & One Whitehall Place on Friday, 16th March 2018.
The awards celebration element has moved from September to March so that winners have a full year to celebrate their accolades. In this transition year, the awards program will recognise winners in 2017 and 2018.

The 20 winning venues in the Prestigious Star Awards 2016 were announced at 20 Cavendish Square on Friday 16th September in London. From a shortlist of 2,000 global venues reviewed throughout the year, 200 were nominated in the awards and only 20 were crowned as winners. For the first time in more than 400 years Villa Pliniana on Italy's Lake Como is now available to host both private and corporate events. Nominees are recognised and highlighted throughout the year for their respective event capabilities. 60 finalists are announced in August and 20 global winners are then celebrated at the awards ceremony on September 16th in London.
Venues invited to enter the awards include luxury hotels, private estates, royal palaces, castles, stately homes, villas, luxury resorts, fine dining restaurants, unique bars, members’ clubs, private islands, grand halls, galleries, gardens and other prestigious venues available for corporate and private events.

The awards feature a thought-leadership element known as The Creative Platform - named by event bookers as “the Cannes Lions of luxury events.” Selected venues will be invited to provide a brief 5 minute glimpse into one of their recent most successful events. In 2015, some of the world's best venues presented case studies that included a star studded tennis tournament on Necker Island, a full scale mini music festival at Farncombe Estate in the Cotswolds and The Global Education Forum held at Atlantis The Palm, Dubai.

20 venues from across the world were announced as winners in the Prestigious Star Awards 2015 on Friday evening at the Oriental Club in London. As the only global luxury venue awards, the program celebrates the quality, performance and reputation of the world’s best venues qualified to host the most memorable events. The awards ceremony was a mix of thought leadership and celebration, featuring speakers from notable international venues including: Atlantis The Palm Dubai, Necker Island, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London, Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, Historic Royal Palaces, Vidago Palace Hotel and more. Winning venues included Goodwood, The Waldorf Astoria New York, Shangri-La Maldives, The Langham Sydney, Atlantis The Palm Dubai and more.
The 20 winning venues in the Prestigious Star Awards 2015 were announced at the Oriental Club on Friday 18th September in London. From a long list of over 2,000 global venues reviewed throughout the year, 200 were nominated in the awards and only 20 were crowned as winners. Nominated venues were voted for by event bookers in July when 3 finalist venues were shortlisted in each category. An in-depth review and election by the Prestigious Venues global ambassadors in August then led to 20 winning venues.
The invitation-only awards evening on the 18th September brought together the Prestigious Venues Top 100, including senior representatives from distinguished international venues, selected clients, corporate partners, prestigious event suppliers, and Prestigious Members Club associates. Venue attendees included Gleneagles, Sofitel Luxury Hotels, Virgin Limited Edition, Atlantis The Palm Dubai, Vidago Palace, Guoman Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, Farncombe Estate, NH Hotels, Rosewood Hotels, Fairmont and more. Other attendees included Google, Barclays, EY, PwC, Simmons & Simmons, Tesco Group, Arena International, Pollard Thomas Edwards, rhubarb and more.
The event was a mix of three elements; thought leadership, celebration and networking. The evening began with the 'Creative Platform' where selected venues presented one of their most successful corporate or private events. These included a star studded tennis tournament on Necker Island, a full scale mini music festival at Farncombe Estate in the Cotswolds, a 24 hour team building session at Thornbury Castle and The Global Education Forum held at Atlantis The Palm, Dubai. The celebrations were amplified with a live orchestra, pop up vintage stage performances, as well as awards cupcakes and a full size edible awards trophy.
